Spiritual Growth
All that we do at Mekeel centers around facilitating spiritual growth in our students. With biblically-integrated teaching, instruction in every subject points students to Christ. Students have Bible classes every week as well as a weekly chapel service where guest speakers inspire and challenge them to walk out their faith. A student-led team leads middle and high school students in worship at each chapel service, and our youngest lions enjoy exciting songs- both new and classic- with fun motions that help them remember these words of life.
Every month we focus on a new word that will help us grow to be more Christ-centered. Additionally, special events like our middle school and high school retreats at the beginning of the year as well as missions trips and our sixth grade trip to Spruce Lake (where the scientific principles students will learn throughout the year come alive through hands-on learning of God’s creation) are designed to help students grow spiritually.
We believe that spiritual growth is a family endeavor, so we include parents, grandparents, and other loved ones as guest chapel speakers and chaperones on our trips. We also have a monthly prayer meeting that is held during the first week of each month in which faculty members, parents, alumni, and special friends of Mekeel come together to pray for specific needs of the school.
