Bringing Medications to School

Due to our concern for student safety and because of state law, we have clear guidelines regarding the possession and use of medications at school.

Students are not permitted to carry nor self-administer any medications (including over-the-counter medications) while in school.

We will do our best to protect our students by strictly enforcing this rule.

Administering Medications at School

All medications are to be brought to the nurse’s office for administration. If your child is required to receive any medication during school hours, the following is required:
  1. A written parental request for administration of the medication.
  2. A written order from the doctor giving the name of the medication, dosage, and duration of the order.
  3. The medication must be in the original container or pharmacy bottle.
